Adults-only hotels in Ayia Napa combine a beach holiday with easy access to restaurants, bars and historic sites. If you are looking for an adults-only hotel, a child-free hotel or a child-free holiday for two, you will find a range of locations here: directly on the bay, centrally by the square or slightly elevated above the town. Ayia Napa lies on the southeast coast of Cyprus and is known for its bright sandy beaches, clear water and proximity to Cape Greco.
The coastline alternates between long sandy beaches and small coves. Nissi Beach, west of the centre, is known for its bright sand and shallow coastline; it gets very busy in high season. Makronissos Beach is a little further away and also offers sand, swimming coves and plenty of space for long days on the beach. Sandy Bay is closer to the town and is a practical location for anyone wanting to combine the sea with restaurants.
In the centre, the harbour, tavernas and historic monastery shape the townscape. Bars and restaurants surround the central square, while paths towards Cape Greco begin at the edge of town. The National Park is a good place for walks across limestone terrain, coastal views and visits to sea caves. The landscape is particularly pleasant early in the day, before the sun and excursion traffic pick up.
May and June, as well as September and October, are particularly suitable for beach days, walks and excursions. During these months, you can usually enjoy the coast more peacefully than in midsummer, while many restaurants, excursion providers and swimming spots remain open. July and August are a good fit if you like long, hot days and lively evenings. If you mainly want to read, swim and travel without a fixed daily schedule, it is better to choose the shoulder months.
Most visitors arrive via Larnaca Airport. From there, you can reach Ayia Napa by hire car, taxi or bus. A hire car is useful if you want to explore Cape Greco, secluded coves or the surrounding area as well as the beaches. If you stay in the centre, many places can be reached on foot.
Cypriot cuisine includes meze with many small hot and cold dishes, halloumi, souvlaki, grilled fish and slow-cooked meat. Salads, bread, olives and a glass of Cypriot wine make good accompaniments. Along the coast, you will find fish restaurants and tavernas, while the centre also offers international cuisines and modern bars. The hotels also have different specialities: Amarande serves Mediterranean and Cypriot dishes, Hotel Napa Suites combines international cuisine with an Asian restaurant, and Napa Plaza offers Italian and Asian options, among others.
If food is an important part of your trip, it is worth looking at the category culinary adults-only hotels. For spa facilities, an indoor pool and treatments, the selection of wellness and spa hotels is a better fit.
East of Ayia Napa lies Protaras, also offering sandy beaches, coves and access to the coastline around Cape Greco. Heading west takes you to Larnaca, where the old town, promenade and airport can easily be combined. Both regions are suitable for a day trip or a round trip with several stops. After a day at the beach, you can head to the harbour in Ayia Napa, try Cypriot specialities and round off the evening without having to travel far.
